Jesus, Remind Us Of The Power of Prayer! (Prayer Journal 65)

Father, in Jesus' name, I thank You for the tension and the wrestling in our hearts that exist due to the way things are compared to how we long for things to be. Thank You for how You are at work in our hearts in this to help us to see our desperate need for You. We need You to quiet our hearts and grant us Your peace. God, You are so amazing and awesome and I ask You to meet us in this space. We are nothing without You, lost without You, and lifeless without You. Thank You that Your love towards us never fails and that Your grace is more than enough. You alone are our Lord, our King, and our God!

God, we want to glorify Your great name in the earth and play the part that You have assigned us. God, we know that no one, not even ourselves, can place us where You want us to serve Your purposes in our generation. Yet You often use people in the process of divinely positioning us. In response to their dreams, Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar called Joseph and Daniel to stand in their presence. God, You were the only One who could use them to do what they did In these spaces. You, the One who opened the door, were all that they had to offer these Kings.

God, help us to realize that we do not need to be in places of worldly power and prominence to have great influence in this world. For we, Your children, are clothed in the robes of Your righteousness. We have access to come before Your holy throne at all times knowing that the golden scepter is always extended to us because in Christ we have favor with our King. May we come boldly before the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. God, make us a people of prayer. Those whose influence in this world comes not because of the positions that we hold but because we humble ourselves before Your Majestic Presence in prayer.

O God, burden our hearts to pray for those things that are on Your heart that You've called us to partner with You in. Break our hearts with what breaks Yours. Cause us to love what You love and to hate what You hate. God, lay on our hearts people, groups, and places that You want to use us to pray for. Cause Your compassion and love to overflow our hearts. Lead us to times of fasting and prayer. Grant us such a great sensitivity to Your Holy Spirit that our automatic supernatural response in all things is to pray. May we truly be a people who pray without ceasing.

Jesus, as we pray would You grant us wisdom and show us those things that You have called and empowered us to co-labor with You in the world. When we work, we work. But when we pray, You work! There is absolutely nothing too hard or impossible for You. And with You all things are possible. Move us to pray for those is positions of authority in our world, nations, regions, and localities. I ask that You would grant some of Your children open doors and access to minister the wisdom of God and gospel of Jesus Christ to them. Grant us boldness, courage, and wisdom to proclaim the Word of the Living God to a generation that has followed, listened to, looked to, and worshiped people and things that are infinitely inferior to You.

God, bring us to the place where we just want You. Because You are all that we and this world needs. Bring us to the place that when we breath that we feel Your pleasure for our every breath comes from You. May it be said that You alone are our passion such that our entire lives are consumed with the fire of Your presence so that the world may see Christ in us, the hope of glory. In Jesus' name, Amen!!!
