God, Desiring Your Presence and Spiritual Renewal (Prayer Journal 271)

Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, I am grateful for the opportunity to enter Your holy presence. I appreciate the powerful influence of Your Holy Spirit in my life. You are my King, my Lord, my God, and my friend. You are the one true and living God, with no equal. You are eternal, infinite, and almighty. You are glorious and gracious, magnificent and mighty, wonderful and worthy. You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the sovereign King seated on Your heavenly throne. You reign over all. There is none like You, none who can compare.

You are exalted and holy. Yet, through Jesus, You are also near and accessible. The death of Jesus for the sins of the world has granted us entry into Your most sacred presence. The divine glory that the vast heavens cannot contain was embodied in Christ. Those who witnessed Jesus in person saw Your glory. Now, that glory dwells on earth within Your Church through the indwelling of Your Spirit.

Lord, I ask that You fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Grant us Your extraordinary strength, knowledge, wisdom, and capability to accomplish all that You have called us to do alongside You in this world. May we be a community that responds to Your Word with faith and obedience. Inspire us to confess and repent of our sins as we turn back to You wholeheartedly. Open our ears to hear You, our eyes to see You, our minds to comprehend You, and our hearts to respond to You. Make our hearts burn with passion as You speak to us on our journey.

God, reveal to us where we are straying from You and not ready to resist temptation. Expose the areas of compromise in our lives and the ways we attempt to hide our unconfessed sins. Lovingly confront us in our wrongdoing. Prepare our hearts to accept the teaching, rebuke, correction, and instruction that come through Your Word. Make us thankful for Your loving discipline and the restoration You promise as we repent. Guide us to walk in the purpose You have for us, as Your plans for us remain unchanged.

God, cleanse our hands and purify our hearts to remove any barriers to walking closely with You and fulfilling Your purpose. May we dedicate ourselves to You for great works among us. As we humble ourselves, lift us up to glorify Jesus. Help us stop hiding our sins and instead embrace Your light. Revive us and shape us into the image of Jesus. Lead us to desire nothing more than Jesus and being in Your presence. Amen!
