God Help Me to Trust You in the Trials! (Prayer Journal 182)

God, You are in absolute and total control. There is absolutely nothing that has happened, is happening, and will happen in all the created universe or in my life unless You allow, cause, or permit it to happen. You are the One who makes known the end from the beginning. You are not a man that You should lie, and neither are You the son of man that You should change Your mind. What You have said that will You do. What You have purposed that shall You bring to pass. Help me to believe, cling, follow, love, and serve You as I daily yield to the Holy Spirit and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Help me to thank You even in the struggles and the trials. You are using them to test my faith, build in me perseverance, and make me more like Jesus. I often have no idea why I am going through what I am going through or understand my emotions as I am going through. But I know that You cause all things to work together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. For those whom You foreknew, You predestined to be conformed to the image of Your Son. If it were not for the truth that You are holding on to me and working in me then I would have fallen apart and away from You a long time ago.

God, I do not know what to do or what to say so I ask You to grant me wisdom. Come Holy Spirit and minister to me as only You can. Breath fresh wind and fresh fire upon my life, marriage, family, and ministry. For if you do not then You should just take me to Yourself so that I do not waste Your breath, Your talents, Your treasures, Your time, and Your real estate. Forgive me for doubting You and failing to believe You. For Your Word tells me that without faith it is impossible to please You: for the one who comes to You must believe that You exist and that You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You.

When I am tempted to doubt Your love for me remind me of the cross. For You demonstrated Your love towards us in this that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. When what is happening in the world and in my life has me feeling overwhelmed, outnumbered, and at my wits end then remind me of Your presence. For You have promised that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Lord Jesus, You will be with me until the end of the age. So, in the midst of the trials and hardships of life I will cling to Your Word that assures me that everything will be alright. For if You be for me than who shall be against me. Amen!!!
