Holy Father, in Jesus name, here we are once again grateful for the privilege of being able to have an audience with You, the High King of Heaven who is the Lord of our heart. How amazing and incredible it is that Your unfathomable love and amazing grace makes it possible for us to boldly come before Your throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need. God, bring us to the place where we love Your presence and do not want to live a single moment without it.
O God, forgive us for indulging the lusts of our flesh and foolishly stewarding over resources that You have entrusted to us to glorify Your great name. Search our hearts and prove us, check our thoughts and try us see if there be any wicked way in us and lead us in the everlasting way. Show us our sin which grieves and quenches the Spirit and hinders us from walking in intimate fellowship with You. Give us hatred towards our sin and move us to confess, repent, and put it to death by the Spirit in the mighty name of Jesus.
Jesus, bring me to the place where we are desperately dependent and totally reliant upon You. And grant us a greater and greater confidence that You are with us. Thank You that Your holy presence goes before us to prepare the way. So help us to hear Your voice, to walk in Your way, and not to turn from it to the right or to the left. Thank You that Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and light unto our pathways. Our steps are ordered by You, Lord, and You delight in our way. Though we may stumble we are not utterly cast down for You, the Lord our God, uphold us with Your righteous right hand.
Bring us to the place where there is an absolute urgency to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to our neighbors and the nations. Help us to stop sitting back and waiting to be invited to share Jesus with others. Cause Your Spirit to forcefully move to, in, and through us to take the initiative to use every available medium at our disposal to proclaim the gospel. God, do whatever You need to do in our hearts to move us from our comfortable seats in the stands to the mission field to serve Your purpose in our generation.
There are people all around us who are hurting, broken, lost, spiritually dead, slaves to sin, captives to the devil doing his will as they are being stolen from, killed, and destroyed in the process. Send us forth in the power of the Spirit to partner with You to preach the good news to the poor, to heal the wounds of the brokenhearted, to set the captives free, to release the prisoners from their darkness, and to proclaim the grace of the Lord Jesus until He returns. For at that time the wrath of God will be meted out to those who are unrepentant. Anoint us and send us to them to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, from the power of satan to God so that they may receive the forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are set apart through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus, before You send us out, draw us close to You so that everything that we say and do flows from our intimate relationships with You. Let us see the people of this world through Your eyes and fill our hearts with Your compassion. For You were wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our lawlessness, the punishment that brought us peace was upon You and by Your stripes we are healed. Thank You God that You were in Christ reconciling the world to Yourself by the blood of the cross as You are no longer counting our sins against us. You have entrusted to us the ministry of reconciliation, given us the message of reconciliation as we are now Christ’s ambassadors imploring others to be reconciled to God. Jesus, would You cause Your passion to be ours and compel us by Your love to take You to those around us. In Jesus’ name, Amen!!!
