Jesus May I Never Cease to Worship and Give You Thanks (Prayer Blog 297)

Jesus, I bless and praise You because You are God Almighty. Nothing is too difficult or impossible for You. I am aware that I need You desperately and I need You at this very moment. In reality, there has never been and will never be a time in my life when I don't need You. I acknowledge that there have been many times in my life when I didn't recognize my need for You. However, that didn't change the truth that I needed You. May Your Spirit help me live with a constant awareness of my need for You.

Move me to call out to You for mercy. I am thankful that You listen to me and desire to do good for me. When You speak with me, grant me the faith to do what You say, no matter how unbelievable it seems. Your ways and thoughts are far above mine, as high as the heavens are above the earth. Enable me to obey You even before I witness Your actions on my behalf.

Help me remember that the blessings You provide are insignificant compared to You. Help me to turn back to You in worship and gratitude for the wonderful things You have done. Nothing is more valuable than You allowing me to experience close communion with You now and eternally. Let me be recognized as someone who worships You alone, for only You deserve the praise of my life.

Jesus, may I not settle for temporary earthly pleasures when the salvation given by grace through faith in Your name is infinitely more. Help me always remember what You have done for me and the desperate condition I was in when You came into my life. Remind me that I am just as desperate today, even if my life's circumstances have changed. Reveal to me the moments when You have been active in my life, and I failed to express my gratitude. As You do so, guide me now to come back to You, glorifying Your name, bowing at Your feet in worship, and offering my thanks.

You are the Lord who is mighty to save. You possess all authority in both heaven and earth. You have a compassionate and loving heart for those made in God's image who are broken by sin. You came to destroy the works of the devil, liberate the captives, mend the brokenhearted, heal the afflicted, proclaim good news to the poor, redeem and ransom sinners, restore people to God, bless, bring hope, and give life. Empower me to participate in Your work on earth today through Your Spirit. Amen!
