God, Help Me To Live An Authentic Life (Prayer Journal 36)

Holy Father, in Jesus name, I thank and praise You for Your presence, Your promises, Your patience, Your faithfulness, Your provision, Your protection, Your power, and Your purpose being fulfilled in my life and in the world. O God, You are so good and I am so grateful that You have not and will not ever give up on me. You can not fail and You will not fail. Everything You said that You will do, You will do. Everything that You have purposed, You will bring to pass. I take solace in this as it seems that everything in my life and in this world that can be shaken will be shaken. Yet You and Your kingdom will never be shaken.

God, I have been longing and wanting for You to promote me to a greater realm of influence and usefulness. Yet if I am honest, I am not even faithfully walking in intimate fellowship with You or serving You where You have me as a husband and father to my wife and kids. Who am I to think that I can authentically minister Jesus to others in the world when I am not loving and serving those around me the majority of the day? Break me from the superficial and inauthentic manners about me that have more to do with my reputation among men then living in authenticity and integrity before Your ever watching eyes. Bring me to the place where all I want is You and to live for You in this world.

God, like Zechariah the priest (Luke Chapter 1), I am showing up for duty not really living by faith and believing You to hear my prayers or do what You've promised. God, I am asking You to manifest Your presence to me in an undeniable way and turn my duty once again to devotion. In my unbelief, rebuke and correct me so that I am no longer walking in doubt. Keep my mouth closed from speaking until You fill my heart with faith and my mouth speaks Your prophetic word as a result.

As I have read Your Word, I know that there were many who You chose and called who doubted You to do what You promised and yet You still did what You said. I am so thankful that Your promises being fulfilled are based on Christ and not on us (2 Corinthians 1:20). For if it were based on us then Your Kingdom would not come nor Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Help me to keep looking to You and seeking Your face with my whole heart and not to be focused on and asking for what You have for me in Your hands.

God, help me in the monotony of these days to continually be blown away by You. For You are the incomprehensible, inscrutable, infinite, indescribable, eternal, one and only true and living God. Bring me to the place where I am left breathless - in awe and wonder of who You are and what You have done for me. May it never grow old, to me, of daily communing with Your holy presence even if the circumstances of my life do not ever become what I want them to be or from my evaluation even become worse. Please help me to daily live out the realities found in Colossians 3:1-4. Jesus, live Your resurrected life in and through me each and every day with great power and glory.

Jesus, like John the Baptist, I declare that You must increase and I must decrease. Reveal, manifest, and speak to others through me. For You have purchased me at a high price with Your precious blood shed on the cross. I am no longer my own. I belong to You. My body is a temple of Your Holy Spirit. Even now please search my heart and prove me, check my thoughts and try me, see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. Purge and remove from me anything that would hinder me from walking in intimate fellowship with You and being used of You to glorify Your name, bring Your Kingdom, and do Your will. God, as You have shed Your love abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit cause every wall to be torn down that keeps that love from freely flowing from me back to You and to others.

God, I am asking You to break me from a ministry mindset to just living in intimate communion with Jesus. From that cause the ministry of Christ to supernaturally flow through my life. Jesus, You can have all of me and now I ask You to empower me to abandon myself fully to You, withholding nothing. Have Your way with me and do to, in, and through me whatever You want. For I am Your bondservant. Let it be done unto me according to Your Word. In Jesus' name. Amen!!!
