Father, in Jesus' name, reignite my spiritual passion for You. Refresh my love and devotion for You above everything else. Restore my intimate fellowship with You. Transform me into a person who finds joy in You. Lead me to the point where You are my sole heart's desire.
It seems as though I've moved so far from the days when I, like the Apostle John, was near enough to rest my head on Your chest and listen to Your heartbeat. Sometimes, it feels like I'm not just slightly distant but on the opposite side of the room, in different rooms, different houses, on different streets, in different cities, in different states, in different countries, separated by oceans before the advent of air travel and the internet.

At times, it feels as if the heavens are brass, making it difficult to hear Your voice. Engaging with Your Word has become a matter of habit and routine. My prayers have turned repetitive and mechanical. While they might impress others when spoken aloud, I often prefer engaging in worldly activities over spending time with You in private prayer. Regrettably, I've mastered the appearance of godliness and the sound of spiritual sensitivity, while my heart is distant from You.

God, could You reveal what's troubling my soul? Why do You let me feel like I'm sinking in quicksand, losing sight of You? I need You to awaken my cold and hardened heart so it can passionately beat for You again, the One who revived me. You didn't bring me this far to abandon me or leave Your work in me incomplete. Lead me to the end of myself so I can genuinely experience and know You.

Reveal to me the sins that grieve and hinder Your Spirit. Let my heart be broken by what breaks Yours and bring a godly sorrow to me over my sins. Revive me so that I may find joy in You once more. O God, I need You desperately! I never want to reach a point where I believe I can live without You. May I be a person who lives every moment in humble dependence on You. As a result, may the life of Jesus Christ be magnified and glorified in and through the life, marriage, family, and ministry You have entrusted to me.
Amen!
