Father, I need You desperately. I am utterly incapable of doing anything apart from abiding in Jesus. I am not able to love You without You empowering me to love You above all else. I am not able to love my bride as Christ loved the Church without the love that You have shed abroad in my heart by Your Holy Spirit. I am not able to bring up my children in the fear and the instruction of the Lord except I yield to Your Spirit. I am not able to preach Your Word and shine Your light in this dark world apart from You working in and through me.
I would be utterly foolish to try and do anything that You have called me to without You. If Your presence does not go before me then do not let me move from where I am. If Your Spirit is not working through me than anything that I say or do is in vain. The people that You have placed me around and send me to need You and not me. Empty me of me and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Use my life to carry Your presence and Word to others. Manifest Your presence, pour out Your Spirit, speak Your Word, and reveal Jesus through my life and lips.
I want to experience deep, rich, intimate fellowship with You as You use me to represent You in this world. May all that I think, say, and do spring forth out of the overflow of our love relationship. May everything in my life revolve around Jesus. So that He alone has the preeminence, priority, and first place in everything.
O God in the stillness and quiet let me have a fresh encounter with You. Open my ears to hear You as You speak to me. What I hear You share with me in the secret place would You use me proclaim from the rooftops. Help me to be fully present and focused on You wherever You have me. Do not let me be focused on the 'big opportunities' but to make the most of every moment and opportunity that You set before me. Help me to do everything that I do as unto You and not unto people for my reward and inheritance come from the Lord Jesus Christ whom I serve.
Because I am a desperate man, who is always needy of You, help me to pray to You about and in everything and without ceasing. Yet at the same time fill me with great confidence because of Your presence with me, Spirit in me, and love for me. Make me a man of courage because You are the Source of my courage. May the words that You spoke to Joshua cause the spine of my spirit man to be like steel.
God, there is no one who is like You or who comes infinitely close to comparing to You. You are the Sovereign Lord seated on Your heavenly throne. Help me to stay focused on You for You are my hope and the only sure thing. You are my only guarantee in this world and for eternity. You will fulfill Your purpose and keep every one of Your promises. Thank You for loving me and forgiving my sins through Jesus' death on the cross. Thank You for granting me eternal life because He was raised from the dead. Do not let me waste the talents, time, and treasures given me on temporal things of this earth that will fade away with the passing of time into eternity. In Jesus' name, Amen!!!
