Expressing Gratitude to God When His Guidance Seems Illogical (Prayer Blog 294)

God, Your guidance for Your people often defies logic, but this enables them to witness and experience You unmistakably. You guided the Israelites out of Egypt through the Red Sea, fully aware that the Egyptians would pursue them. In what seemed like a trap, with mountains on either side and the Red Sea ahead, You divided the waters, allowing them to cross on dry ground. Then, You brought the waters back over the Egyptians who followed, resulting in their demise.

I am aware that I lack understanding of what I'm doing and am unsure of what steps to take. Given this, I turn to You. Your ways and thoughts surpass mine, as the heavens are above the earth. I need Your help because the situation I'm in is too difficult for me. I'm in a storm that's overwhelming, and unless You come to me, guiding me through, I won't be able to fulfill what You have called me to do.
As You approach me amidst the stormy waters, ensure that I do not overlook You or let You pass by. Assist me in discerning Your presence amidst the turmoil of my situation. Despite the uncertainty and my doubts, help me to reach out to You with faith. When You invite me to act on Your Word, give me the courage to do so, even when it seems completely irrational. I am grateful that You will not forsake me, even when my faith falters and I feel overwhelmed by my circumstances.

I am grateful that You listen to my plea for mercy and that You will intervene to save me. Even if I am caught in a storm, it is You who directed me here. The storm is not more powerful than You and cannot prevent Your purpose from being accomplished. You allowed the storm so that I could recognize Your true nature and be reminded of my profound need for You, acknowledging that I cannot accomplish what You have called me to do without Your presence. Therefore, right here and now, I thank You for guiding me and for what You are teaching me about Yourself along the journey. In Jesus' name, Amen!
