Father, in Jesus' name, thank You for once again giving me a desire to spend time with You. My flesh does not want to spend time with You and draw near to You. Thank You for the powerful working of Your Holy Spirit in my life which helps me not to give in to the lust of my flesh. I know that left to myself that I am so distracted from You by so many things that are infinitely inferior to You.
God, in these turbulent days that we are living in I ask that You would grant insight, wisdom, access, and influence to Your people to minister Christ to those in positions of authority. I pray for followers of Christ in the realm of government. I ask that You would manifest Your presence to them and draw them close to You. Protect them from the spiritual attacks of the evil one and the manifestation of evil in the world. May You place Your words in their mouths, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and use them to proclaim Jesus to local, national, and world leaders.
Jesus, in the midst of all the continual news that we hear from biased points of view it is hard to know what is really going on. The evil one is at work manipulating and propagating things through the media and politics to bring greater division and hostility between people. It becomes so easy to think of conspiracy theories in the midst of a world where there are so many following the god of this age, satan, who by his very nature is a liar and the father of lies.
God, let us be a people not given over to speculation or listening to those who claim to have insight. The truth of the matter is that You are the only One who knows everything that will happen and whose purposes for the future will not be thwarted. I am asking You to entrust Your mysteries to Your people that we would be prepared for the days in which we are living. Because of the insight that You give us may we always be steps ahead of the enemy's plots and schemes against us. I am asking in this hour that You raise up some men and women like Daniel and his three friends who are able to interpret and explain the mysteries that are troubling our leaders.
Jesus, help us to trust You as You grant us success in all that we do often in difficult places of obscurity (off the beaten path and far from the limelight). Empower us to do all that we do as unto You, Lord, and not unto men for our reward is from You. Give us Your heart to love and serve others, even those who hate us and would want to rid the earth of us because we belong to You. May we be faithful over the little that we have so that You may entrust us with even more for Your Kingdom purposes and Your glory.
God, You are unlimited in all of Your attributes and we are limited. In the midst of the overwhelming challenges and difficulties may we be a people that You empower and use to do BIG things that can only be explained by us pointing people to YOU. Make us tired of living by what we know is possible, by what is familiar and routine. Bring us to the end of ourselves where we know that without Your divine empowerment and intervention that we are utterly incapable of doing what You've called us to do. God, I am asking You to use us to turn cities upside down as we live and preach Christ.
Jesus, the world needs You and sadly there is no recognition of their alienation from You (the truth that those who do not know You are sons of disobedience and by nature are objects of Your wrath). O God revive Your people and send us to the world anointed by Your Spirit to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan to God that they may receive the forgiveness of their sins and a place among those who are set apart through faith in Jesus Christ. We need another great outpouring of Your Spirit upon the nations of the earth that will sweep great multitudes out of the valley of decision into the Kingdom of our God. In Jesus' name, Amen!!!
