Help Us to Trust You: Fulfill Your Purpose in Us - Prayer Journal 236

Father, thank You for loving us, being with us, and working everything together in our lives for the good as You make us more and more like Jesus. I want to thank You for Your faithfulness to Your promises, Your purpose, and Your people. Help us to submit to Your purpose. You will not let us miss what You have for us when our focus is on You, and hope is in You. Thank You that Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and light unto our paths. We were created by You and for You. Use our lives to glorify Your great name as we serve Your purposes in the earth in this generation.

We have limitations but You do not have any. Help us to trust You to do to, in, and through us what we could never do apart from You. May we not allow our circumstances nor feelings to stop us from trusting You to do what You've promised. Forgive us for doubting You and walking by sight rather than by faith. Like Joseph who was sold into slavery, no matter our circumstances, You are with us. But we sometimes react like David in the midst of our prolonged difficulties. He was anointed and given Your Word that he would become King of Israel yet in his doubting went to the Philistines to get away from Saul. Thank You that even when we lose faith that You are faithful and protect Your purposes.

Help us, like Mary the mother of Jesus, to avail ourselves to You and say 'Yes' to Your will and purpose no matter what it costs us. For we belong to You as You created us in Your image and redeemed us by the precious blood of Jesus. You do not owe us anything. We owe You everything that we are. Forgive us for often holding back what is rightfully and only Yours while offering it to people and things that are infinitely inferior to You.

We no longer have an obligation to the flesh (our sinful nature). Help us to live by the Spirit so that we can put the deeds of the flesh to death and live in a manner that is honoring and pleasing to You. Forgive us for the habitual sins that we continually do. Break us from turning towards that which leaves us empty rather than to You, the only One who can satisfy us. Bring a godly sorrow to our souls over our sin. Produce in us repentance and continue to lead us down the path of salvation. We need You to revive us!

Make us God chasers who worship you in spirit and truth. May we be pure and holy vessels whose lives are consecrated to You. Help us to live in intimate fellowship with You. May all that is done out of our lives flow from that river of intimacy. May You, and You only, have the preeminence, priority, and first place in our lives. May there be no competitors or rivals to You for the throne of our hearts. Help us, by the Spirit's power, to love You with everything that we are and with all that You've given us. In Jesus' name, Amen!
