Holy Father, in Jesus' name, I bless You and praise You my God and King. There is none like You, no one who infinitely comes close to comparing to You. For You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords. You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, of all things visible and invisible. You are the Ruler over all rulers, thrones, authorities, principalities, and powers. You are the Most High God whose throne is established in the heavens and whose Kingdom rules over all. You rule over the nations as You are seated on Your holy throne. You are the high and lofty One, the holy One, who inhabits eternity and yet You dwell with those who are humble of heart and contrite of spirit.
For You God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) have set Your glory above the heavens. Yet the eternal Son of God would rend the heavens and come down to the earth. Though all things were created through Him, He would come down in the likeness of man while never ceasing to be God. The One who was worshiped by angels would leave the glory of heaven to come into this fallen world where He would be rejected by humanity that He came on a rescue mission to save. Jesus, I cannot begin to comprehend Your glory and matchless splendor neither can I comprehend Your condescension and humility.
For You, Jesus, the King of glory left Your heavenly throne to come into the world to die for rebellious and sinful humanity who are deserving only of God's wrath. How great is the Father's love for us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us! For those of us who have come to know You are blown away by God's love lavished on us that we are now His children. What we will be has not yet been made known but when You (Jesus) appear (in the Father's glory) we shall be like You for we shall see You as You are. It is this hope that we have in You that purifies our souls in the midst of this polluted world.
God, do not let me shrink back from preaching the message of the cross of Jesus Christ. Let me know nothing among those that You send me to except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Help us to see how the death of Christ made it possible for us to know the forgiveness of sins, to be reconciled to You, and to open the door that was closed to us so that we can now come boldly before You, have relationship with You, and a place in Your eternal Kingdom. Without the cross there is no resurrection, ascension, enthronement at the Father's right hand (as the God-man), coming of the Holy Spirit, and future glorious day for the redeemed at the exaltation of Jesus by the Father. Thank You God for what You have made available to us because of Your greatness that is truly unsearchable. In Jesus' name, Amen!!!
