Father, in Jesus' name, You are so faithful. You are my Rock and my firm foundation. You are consistent, constant, and unchanging. It really does not make sense as to why You are so patient and long suffering with me. It seems like daily I continue to squander gifts and opportunities that You give and entrust to me. Thank You for Your presence with me at all times, Your everlasting love for me, Your daily provision to me, and Your very great and precious promises.
Jesus, though I am often half-hearted in my response to You that did not ever make You think of not fully giving Yourself for me. You will never withhold any good thing from me. You died on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins. After the resurrection and Your ascension, You gave me Your Spirit that I may daily experience Your eternal life. And one day You are going to return to do away with sin, death, satan and all evil, and this fallen world that I may fully live in Your presence in a new body in a new heaven and earth.
You have made it possible for me to have daily fellowship with You, the lover of my soul, that will continue throughout eternity. Yet most days I treat You as if You are my personal genie to grant me three wishes so that I can have temporary things. Even still Your hands continue to provide for me, though You know that I desire what You have for me more than I desire You. Help me to lift my gaze from Your hands to Your glorious face. Bring me to the place where I want You more than anyone and anything else. Make me a man that seeks You and finds You as I search for You with my whole heart.
Stir me by Your Spirit to truly confess and repent of sin, to renounce every idol and false god, and to return to You my first and only true love. Revive me again, O Lord! Set my heart and soul ablaze with a passion for You that the world, the flesh, and the devil will never be able to quench. May the fiery flame of Your presence cause my entire life to be consumed by You. Do whatever You must to bring me to the place where I willingly give my entire life to You - withholding nothing. Constantly remind me that I am not my own. I belong to You. For You have bought me with Your precious blood.
Jesus, fill me with Your Spirit as You live Your resurrected life in and through me. Break me from living according to my feelings and in a manner that is acceptable and pleasing to people. Help me to daily come after You, denying myself, and taking up my cross to follow You wherever You lead me. Bring me to the place, like the Apostle Paul, that You are my greatest desire and only treasure. That for me to live is Christ and to die is gain. Amen!!!
